Master Decks was the first decking company to create the perfect waterproof deck. The system uses a sloping base deck onto which water resistant shutter board is fixed, this is then professionally waterproofed as one would a concrete deck. Then battens are laid spaced to accommodate the slope and relieve the listing effect. The decking is then fixed as per any conventional duckboard deck " loose lay". Gutters and down pipe are fitted to allow the water to be drained away. The result is a totally waterproof area underneath that can be utilised in any weather, a ceiling with down lighters can be installed to further increase this utilisation of the space underneath for night time entertainment. This deck was recently installed at False Bay Yacht Club - Simons Town to allow additional space for the smoking fraternity. |
